PyRC Diceroller

Heh. It's been far too long since I've done anything with this. Perhaps it's time to get back into the swing of things. With that then, I present to you: PyRC Diceroller. Built using IrcUtils as a library for handling the IRC protocol, PyRC Diceroller is a dicebot with support for multidie rolls & multiline output; all wrapped up in a handy Pythonic design.

Pathways Medley

Pathways, pathways

gotta go any-ways

gotta go any place

Gotta go, where to go?

I dunno, here we go

How we go is when we go &

Need to go somewhere

not just anywhere

need to find the path to

I can’t be here

here is nowhere

Nowhere has nothing for

Need to find my place to be

Cannot wait to stop and see

where will my home have

Spin, spin, spin

Gotta keep your wheels spinnin’ baby

Spin, spin, spin

Gotta keep your choices free.

Spin, spin, spin

If you stop your wheels spinnin’ baby

Spin, spin, spin

No more options left to be.

Where is the berth for the wandering heart?

Where can it rightly call home?

Where is the room for the traveling soul,

when the world builds only for two?

When can I stop this curious mind

from peeking around the next bend?

What is the cure for loving too soon

For a man who knows just how it ends?

Why is it so easy to fall for someone

knowing how much it hurts when you land?

Why can’t I just stay put

and stay happy here?

Why must I go out alone?

Who can I hold

when there’s nobody left

because nobody left can hold me?

What is a relationship for someone who has

passion and trust in a friend?

What is the fate of this wandering heart

with no one to wander with it in the end?

On a certain Madame of mine

On a certain Madame of mine

She tastes of the color Red,

tender, tangy, supple, smooth.

She smells of sunset, of dusk,

of the mysteries which lie

along the border

between light and dark,

within the thick line

between day and night.

In holding her within my arms,

the world skips a beat,

pausing for a moment

granting us breath.

Daily worries & ponderous pressures

are lifted, forgotten, & freed.

Life’s weights and stresses

shared and shouldered

between us together,

for together no load shall overwhelm us.

For together,

our love is freed.

Minor update: Working in Python has kind of been put on hold. Java is the language of the day in my Comp Sci sequence, and blargh.

Debate-wise, I'm heading to the Phi Rho Pi forensics nationals in Portland here in a couple weeks. College forensics still seems very surreal, but hopefully things will be more developed next year.

Just had my first tournament of the term last Saturday. It was up at OSU. I ended up doing Worlds debate for the first time, which was interesting. It's a panel debate of 4 teams of 2. We found out the rules about 10 minutes before the first round, but by the end of the night we were crushing our foes. It's a rather fun event, but it precluded doing anything else at this tournament, so I'm a little wary of doing it again.
Speaking of other tournaments, I really should be doing more towards preparing a memorized event. I feel almost guilty for not doing so, but the bar for college debate feels so low. At least I'm creating my own social group in it next term.

Muahahaha. That is all.
